From wild Nairobi to Rothschild's giraffes
This Nairobi National Park and Giraffe Centre tour combines a genuine game drive inside Nairobi National Park with an educational conservation visit to the Giraffe Centre in Lang'ata. The pairing works well because both attractions are on the southern side of Nairobi, reducing unnecessary cross-city travel.
The morning safari focuses on wildlife in its natural habitat. Kenya Wildlife Service records black rhinos, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebra and more than 400 bird species within Nairobi National Park. The city skyline remains visible from parts of the reserve, creating one of Kenya's most unusual safari settings.

Giraffe Centre conservation experience
The Giraffe Centre is operated by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife and is closely associated with conservation education and the recovery of Rothschild's giraffes. Visitors can observe the giraffes at close range, learn about their biology and conservation, and use the elevated viewing platform.
The Centre currently states that it is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day, including weekends and public holidays. Current visitor information and admission details are available from the official Giraffe Centre website.
How the day is paced
An early Nairobi National Park game drive is recommended first, when temperatures are cooler. The tour then continues to the Giraffe Centre after leaving the park. Because this package does not depend on the fixed 11:00 AM Sheldrick Nursery visiting hour, it is more flexible than the Sheldrick combination and can be adjusted around hotel checkout, airport transfers or other Nairobi plans.
Who this excursion suits
The combination is especially suitable for families, first time visitors to Nairobi, photographers and travellers who want both a natural safari and a close conservation encounter. It is also a useful pre-safari or post-safari activity when a full overnight journey is not practical.
